The final three have been selected. Who will open up for Theory of a Deadman?

The final three are here! You voted, I have a favourite and soon we’ll find out which band will be the opening-act for Theory of a Deadman.

So after eight weeks of great music talk, Whisky Rocks Showdown is coming to a close. I liked being immersed in checking out all these aspiring musicians. It takes a lot for artists to put themselves out there like this, I don’t know if I could do it ─ singing, performing, and then leaving it in strangers’ cyber hands to vote. But it’s a very important thing to take part in because even though none of my long-list choices made it to the top three, they’re now on my ─ and many others ─ radar. Potential fans can’t find your music if they don’t know you’re out there and as a music lover I’m glad musicians get these opportunities to introduce themselves to the world. Actually, now thinking about it, we need something like this for writers ─ Whisky Writer’s Showdown has a nice ring to it…

Okay, now to the top three finalists.

Dray Dunk: Out of the top three I found Dray Dunk pulled me in the most. The lead singer has the kind of voice that I would remember. The song got into my head and he sung it with intensity which I like.

Paramount seems cool. They sound like they’ll be ready to get the party going and I’ve always loved when a singer can perform while casually holding a beer.

Steve Costello: Slick band. Slick video. I have no doubt their fans will make their votes heard.

I don’t know who will win. I can imagine that all three are biting their nails in anticipation. Whoever wins will definitely enjoy exposure that you just can’t buy. It’s time to get those final votes in. Good luck!
